Actuarial Club Officer Elections 2022 

 

It is time for one of the most anticipated events of the year - Annual Club Officer Elections!  This is your chance to take on a leadership position and contribute to the success of one of the largest student organizations in the business school. Officer elections will be held on Monday, April 18th from 5:30-6:30 PM in Grainger 1295.

Election eligibility and requirements

  • Candidate must be a dues-paying member for the year 2021-2022

  • Candidate must be on-campus for the entire 2022-2023 academic year. Each officer position is a year-long commitment. Members studying abroad, going for full-time internships roles during the semester or taking the semester off for any reason are not eligible to run.

  • Candidate must fill out the Candidacy Form 

    • Election eligibility will remain the same: candidates can run for the Presidential role (if eligible*) and up to two Vice President roles

    • Candidates must rank their preference if running for multiple positions

 

*In order to be eligible to run for president, the candidate must have been a dues-paying member of the club for at least 3 semesters (current semester included). Prior leadership experience within the club or another student organization is highly recommended.

Election Process 

The candidates running for President will give a 1.5 minute speech. The candidates running for Vice President positions will give a 1 minute speech. If no absolute majority is reached, the top 2 candidates will each give a 30-second speech, on the topic of a pre-set run-off question. These questions could be found in the official description document.

The order of voting for positions are:

 

President --> Marketing --> Education Enrichment --> Communication --> Engagement --> Finance 

 

As for the order of the speeches, we will have you randomly draw a number from a box that will indicate your speech order.

             

Facebook Page, Instagram Posts/Stories

You are highly encouraged to post on the Actuarial Club Elections 2022 Facebook event page to campaign for yourself. Also, new this year: you can submit a short clip up to 1 minute long video to Lauren Kelly (lrkelly2@wisc.edu) to post on the Actuarial Club’s Instagram (@actuarialclubuw). Candidates running for President will get their clip posted as an Instagram post, while candidates running for a Vice President position will get their clip posted as a Instagram story.
