Actuarial Club 2023-24 Officers

Josh Lange

President

Josh is a senior majoring in Actuarial Science, Economics - Math Emphasis, Finance, and Risk Management & Insurance, with Math and Data Science certificates. Before this position, he was the VP of Member Relations and Engagement. Josh interned at Allianz Life in the summer of 2021, Northwestern Mutual in the summer of 2022, and interned at Milliman’s Chicago Life practice in the summer of 2023. He will be working at Wakely Consulting Group after graduation. He has passed Exams FM, P, IFM, FAM, ALTAM, SRM, and PA, and is currently working on Health FSA modules. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball at the Bakke/Nick, being outside, and spending time with friends.

Noah Kempf

Vice President of Social Media and Marketing

Noah is a sophomore majoring in Actuarial Science and Risk Management & Insurance with a certificate in Data Science. Noah has in fact passed exam FM, and hopes to sit for P in December. Prior to being the officer of Social Media and Marketing, Noah served on the Committee his freshman year. Noah, in his free time, thoroughly enjoys golf, skiing, and watching sports. He also enjoys scrolling through social media and really is fond of studying for exams.

Whitney Beaston

Vice President of Member Relations and Engagement

Whitney is a Senior majoring in Mathematics with Data and Risk Analysis, and French with a Statistics certificate. Prior to this position, she served as a member of the Engagement Committee. This past summer, Whitney interned at Transamerica on the Life Model Development team. She has passed FM and plans to sit for P this Spring. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, making coffee, and reading with her book club. A fun fact about Whitney is that she recently started a Bachelor Fantasy League.

Sarah Bloemer

Vice President of Communication

Sarah is an incoming Junior majoring in Actuarial Science and Risk Management & Insurance with certificates in Mathematics and Leadership. Before this position she served on the communications leadership committee and tutors students weekly through the Actuarial Foundation’s Math Motivators program. She was an actuarial intern with Sentry Insurance in the Summer of 2023 in the Madison office and will be at Milliman’s Casualty practice this coming Summer 2024. She has passed FM, P and FAM with plans to sit for ASTAM this coming spring semester! In her free time, she enjoys dancing with her dance organization, Optima Dance, as well as attending Badger sporting events.

Jacob Lange

Vice President of Finance

Jake is a senior majoring in Computer Science and Finance with a certificate in Mathematics. Prior to this position, he served as a member of the Educational Enrichment Committee and co-coordinator for intramural sports. Jake has completed two internships in software engineering and will be working at Twitch after graduation, while also attending graduate school part-time. He has passed exams FM and P and will be taking FAM in March 2024. In his free time, Jake enjoys hammocking, playing basketball at the gym, and spending time with friends.

Tyler Tofte

Vice President of Educational Enrichment

Tyler is a senior majoring in Actuarial Science and Risk Management & Insurance. Tyler is a regular attendee at Kirk’s Life Lessons and has been a committee member, tutor, mentor, and grader. He has passed exams FM, P, FAM, MAS-I, and ASTAM. Tyler will be sitting for MAS-II and Exam 5 in the spring. He enjoys driving his Ford Thunderbird while playing classic country music on the radio. He also likes reading about stoicism and self-development.

Taylor Yang

Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Taylor is a sophomore majoring in Actuarial Science with a certificate in Data Science. This summer, she will be interning at Pacific Life in Newport Beach, CA. Taylor has passed exam FM and has plans to take exam P this spring. During her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, getting coffee, and shopping.

Kirk Peter

Faculty Advisor
