What are our Unique Lunch Discussions?

Lessons in Life and Leadership

During these Tuesday lunch discussions, one of our faculty members, Kirk Peter, chooses an important topic and leads an interactive conversation with students. These weekly topics are far from traditional actuarial education. They focus on the goal of teaching our student community how to lead successful lives. Not just in their education and careers, but also in their personal lives and their approach to challenges. These engaging discussions help our students develop by learning life lessons shared by distinguished faculty and from the perspectives of fellow students.

Common Thread

These Thursday lunch discussions are student-focused. Usually led by Actuarial Club Vice President of Community and Belonging, Allie Downes, or club members sharing a topic important to them. The purpose behind these conversations is to highlight the 'common thread' that ties our community together. Our club members discuss the similarities and differences between us, the common hardships faced, and ways we can come together to help one another. This initiative truly strengthens our community and builds the village many students need.
